Black and White is timeless and often creates a sense of looking deeper into one’s soul, a sense of mystique and power. It’s perfect at illustrating the dominating yet delicate balance of life in the wild.
What we see is transformed, is rendered more subtle. We focus on light and texture and form – my subjects contrast but I feel my black and white photographs have a more contemplative feel. An image of zebras or elephants drinking from a water hole celebrates the beauty of light and shade amid the challenges of survival.
